Week 2 Preview

This is a make or break game. If ATL doesn’t win here, all hype and expectations for the team will be completely killed. The Vikings will be a tough team to beat, but I believe Atlanta can take advantage of MIN’s injuries and new quarterback, J.J. McCarthy.

Last week, Atlanta put up 20 points against Tampa Bay, and Minnesota put up 27 points against Chicago. Atlanta lost, and Minnesota won. There were major differences between these two teams though, and that’s QB play. Arguably, Micheal Penix Jr. played significantly better than J.J. McCarthy did in their season openers. Prior to the fourth quarter, McCarthy had thrown for zero touchdowns and one pick six. Now, to McCarthy’s credit, he did clean his act up in the fourth quarter, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for one, but that was against the Chicago Bears. Atlanta has a much more complete roster than CHI, and will be giving MIN much more problems than Chicago did.

Atlanta’s defense, as shown by last week, is deadly. They’re applying much more pressure this year than they did last year, and they’re going to make quarterbacks uncomfortable. Baker Mayfield did not look good when under pressure last week, and he’s a veteran quarterback, so just imagine what’ll happen when J.J. McCarthy is subjected to our defense.. It should also be noted that DE Andrew Van Ginkle will not be playing for MIN, which should lessen the pressure on Atlanta’s OL.

Also, we have both our WR1 and WR2 back! It’s been recently disclosed by HC Raheem Morris that both Drake London and Darnell Mooney will be playing against Minnesota this week. Our deep ball game will be coming back, and now MIN has to conceal two amazing receivers, alongside Bijan Robinson who is also an amazing receiver.

Breaking news right as I was about to finish my post; Parker Romo has been named the kicker for the game this Sunday. Koo won’t even be travelling to Minnesota. We should be able to have some hope in making field goals now.

I believe that we’re going to win this game. It may be close, but my final score prediction is ..

31-29, Dirty Birds
