Week 4 Recap

This is it. The offensive finally clicked in a statement win against the Washington Commanders. I got to watch this game in person and I must say that it was extremely satisfying to watch the Falcons look like a complete team.

THE GOOD

Michael Penix, Jr. finally clicked. He had 300 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns, one to Drake London and one to Kyle Pitts. He also threw one interception. During this game, Penix was locked. He was finally making deep throws to his receivers and it paid off. Overall he played extremely well and if he can keep this momentum up throughout this season, he’s going to be throwing for over 3,500 yards.

Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier both had one rushing touchdown a piece this week. They’re both extremely versatile backs and they complement each other extremely well within this offense. I believe that they should always be used like how they were this week, as when they’re used this way the team has immense success. Bijan also had 75 rushing yards and 106 receiving yards. This should go without saying but these are elite numbers for a running back. Bijan is a top 5 offensive player in the NFL and I truly believe that if he keeps having stats like this he will be the Offensive Player of the Year.

London and Pitts both had good days as well, finally being used to their full capacity. Both had one receiving touchdown. Pitts had 5 receptions with 70 receiving yards, London had 8 receptions for 110 yards. Penix is finally making big throws to these big receivers, and it’ll be hard to cover them. They’re going to be producing extremely good stats this season if Penix keeps up the pace.

The defense also played pretty well, recording 1 interception and 2 sacks. I believe that when A.J. Terrell comes back, we should be able to limit pass defenses much more than we have in the past two weeks. If they keep playing this way, then ATL will have a top 10 defense by the end of the season.

Parker Romo also made 2 field goals and all 4 extra points. He had his redemption game and I think he is good to go as the kicker for Atlanta. He just needs to show consistency.

THE MID

The only thing I’m worried about for us is our Special Teams. There were a lot of injuries regarding ST last week and I feel like these can and should be prevented. I feel like after the bye week we can get it together, but we just need to keep injuries to a minimum.

All in all, I have a feeling that this bye week will be needed. Our next opponent is the Josh Allen-led Buffalo Bills. It is going to be a very tough game, but I believe that there is a chance we could win if we keep playing like we did on Sunday.

Rise Up!
