WEEK 8 RECAP
I wish I could say that I didn’t expect this. But I did. Falcons lose another close game in embarrassing fashion. We’re practically out of the playoffs, but of course if we win the next 3 we’re (somehow) still in it. We shouldn’t be. This coaching staff disgusts me. Penix cannot develop under this soft head coaching and terrible offensive scheme. He also just needs more receivers. Drake London cannot be his only option at WR. I’m sick of Darnell Mooney and Pitts, as they aren’t contributing anything to this offense at the moment. We also cannot get Bijan going, which was the key to some of the only games that we actually did win.
Our next 3 matchups are against the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and New York Jets. These are all winnable games. If we keep winning in defining fashion, then I might be back on the Falcons hope train. But that won’t happen. Even if it does, we have insanely difficult opponents in the last quarter of the season, so at best we win 8 games again. At best.
Either way, I will (somehow) keep watching this team every Sunday, because that’s what a fan does.
