2025 Season Outlook

The 2025 Atlanta Falcons SHOULD be a team that’s turning heads, but time and time again, they’re underestimated. Every single year it just feels like disappointment, and eventually the Falcons just became “the team who throws away leads”. Last year, with Kirk Cousins, the Falcons had a tight grip on the NFC South until halfway through the regular season. That’s when the picks started to be thrown. You know the rest.

In the 2024 season, week 16 against the Giants, Michael Penix was named QB1 for the Atlanta Falcons. From that game onward, Atlanta felt a shift in its future. Michael Penix is going to be the next star for Atlanta, alongside the generational talent that this young offense holds. Drake London, Bijan Robinson, Michael Penix, and possibly Kyle Pitts are going to shatter the expectations everyone has for the Atlanta Falcons in 2025. I truthfully believe that if this team pushes hard enough, they can be the number 1 or 2 seed and the NFC – and this is no exaggeration. With an electric offense and one of the easier schedules this year, Atlanta has a genuine chance to shock everyone and make a deep run into the playoffs.  Here are my predictions for this season’s ceiling and floor.

Speaking of young talent, the Falcons focused on the defense in the 2025 draft and free agency. Players like Jalon Walker, James Pearce Jr., and Divine Deablo were added to the team and are expected to make an instant impact for the pass rush, which was extremely lackluster last season. Despite this, I also believe that the less notable names on the secondary such as Billy Bowman Jr., Xavier Watts, and Cobee Bryant are going to start sometime this season/in the near future. The Falcons can finally have faith in both sides of the ball, and it’s time to prove that this faith is warranted. Here are my predictions for this season’s team awards.
