WEEK 6 RECAP

Is this real? The Atlanta Falcons beat the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football at the Mercedes Benz Stadium. The defense is legit – ELITE even. Bijan Robinson is the best Running back in all of the NFL. Penix is a franchise quarterback. This team just needs a little bit more experience, but I believe we can compete for the title of the NFC South.

THE GOOD

Everything. There was nearly nothing I could critique for this football game. The defense made reigning MVP Josh Allen look uncomfortable in the pocket. He was picked off TWICE and sacked four times. The pass rush woes are over. We have a defense.

Don’t even get me STARTED on Bijan Robinson. He has 238 scrimmage yards and is currently leading the league in scrimmage yards by 40 (he’s played 1 game less than everyone below him on the list!). He had a FANTASTIC 81-yard touchdown which he should not have made, but against all odds he ran through the Buffalo defense. There were also many plays in which he just would not go down, breaking NUMEROUS tackles before he was finally on the ground. Offensive Player of the Year, no doubts.

Drake London had his breakout game. 158 yards and 1 touchdown in 10 receptions. That 9-5 connection is REAL and it will only get more deadly in due time. Penix also played fantastically during this game and knew when to run, what throws to make, and when to make them. He wasn’t a standout but he didn’t make any mistakes.

THE MID

We could not keep our offense consistent. Most of the explosive plays came within the first half of the game, in which after it was mainly the defense who had to carry the Dirty Birds. Not complaining, but we need to finish games and make sure that our offense can stay CONSISTENT throughout the entire game.

Kyle Pitts was also in limited use, but he was constantly being doubled up on by the Bills defense. He will rebound in the coming weeks.

If the Dirty Birds can keep up these types of performances, I think we’ll have a winning season by week 14. Until next time, Dirty Birds!
